The Consumer Technology Association announced on September 21, 2026, that Waymo co-CEO Tekedra Mawakana will deliver a keynote at CES 2027.

The appearance places one of the largest autonomous ride-hailing operators on the show’s main stage as the industry moves from pilot programs toward broader commercial deployment. Automatica reported earlier that the CES 2027 keynote lineup also includes Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa and Lenovo CEO Yuanqing Yang.

Mawakana will speak at 1 p.m. PST on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2027, in the Palazzo Ballroom at the Venetian, according to the CTA. The Waymo booth will be in the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall, booth 3741, during the Jan. 6–9 show.

"

“Waymo is making fully autonomous transportation a seamless part of everyday life,” Mawakana said in the release. “We’re scaling a service that gives people a safer, more reliable way to get where they need to go.”

She intends to detail how the company maintains its safety standards alongside international expansion, fleet evolution, and more. The release did not specify which new markets or vehicle platforms will be discussed.

Waymo says its service now completes more than half a million trips per week across its operating cities. It recently began welcoming public riders in Las Vegas—its 15th U.S. market—giving CES attendees the opportunity to take fully autonomous rides during the show.

"

“Whether it’s getting to work, catching a flight or heading to a doctor, autonomous vehicles deliver convenience, accessibility and value,” said Kinsey Fabrizio, CTA president and CEO.

Mawakana, who served on the CTA Board of Industry Leaders from 2019 to 2021, was recognized on the TIME 100 AI list and Forbes’ 50 Over 50. She previously spoke at the CES 2025 Leaders in Technology Dinner.

Automatica reported in October that her keynote is part of a CES 2027 program that Stellantis plans to use for new vehicle and software reveals. The CTA’s own announcement notes the autonomous-vehicle focus will extend across both keynotes.

CES 2027 runs January 6–9 in Las Vegas.
