The Consumer Technology Association announced on September 21, 2026, that Waymo co-CEO Tekedra Mawakana will deliver a keynote at CES 2027 in Las Vegas.

The appearance puts one of the leading autonomous vehicle operators on the show's main stage as the industry moves from limited pilot programs toward broader commercial deployment.

Mawakana previously spoke at the CES 2025 Leaders in Technology Dinner, according to the CTA announcement. That announcement also notes Waymo recently began welcoming public riders in Las Vegas — its 15th U.S. market — marking a continued expansion of its footprint beyond earlier, more limited deployments.

Mawakana is scheduled to speak at 1:00 p.m. PST on Wednesday, January 6, 2027, in the Palazzo Ballroom at the Venetian. According to the CTA announcement, she will address Waymo's international expansion plans, fleet evolution, and how the company maintains its safety standards. CTA relays Waymo's claim that its autonomous vehicles complete over half a million trips per week; those figures are Waymo's own and have not been independently verified. CTA also describes Waymo's Las Vegas launch as giving CES attendees access to fully autonomous rides during the show.

The keynote stage on January 6 will also feature Stellantis, as Automatica reported, and Lenovo plans a separate hybrid AI keynote at Sphere the same day.

Waymo will also exhibit at booth 3741 in the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall from January 6–9.
