NVIDIA announced on October 15, 2026, that it is expanding access to its advanced technologies for Europe's scientific community through the AI in Science Enablers Initiative Source 1. The initiative, launched by the European Commission, aims to support scientific progress by providing researchers with tools, compute resources, training, and collaborative projects.

NVIDIA's pledge includes access to over 250 open models, 250 open datasets, and 1,400 open-source software projects, available on platforms like Hugging Face and GitHub, covering areas such as healthcare, robotics, and climate science. The company is also providing computational resources and technical support through its Inception program for startups, and collaborating with European national AI factories in France, Spain, and Sweden to offer sovereign European compute and services. Additionally, NVIDIA is supporting the development of 35 supercomputers across Europe, which will equip over 3 million researchers with next-generation infrastructure for AI and accelerated science.

The NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute has launched an open-source courseware hub with hands-on materials for accelerated computing and deep learning. These courses are freely available and can be adapted for university curricula, supercomputing center bootcamps, or developer community events. NVIDIA is also co-organizing a European AI hackathon this month, in collaboration with various scientific computing centers, as part of a broader effort to support researchers in fine-tuning models on their own datasets.

The AI in Science Enablers Initiative is part of the broader European Strategy for Artificial Intelligence in Science, which aims to reinforce Europe's technological and scientific leadership. The initiative is supported by the Resource for AI Science in Europe (RAISE), a virtual institute that pools talent and resources to drive excellence in AI research Source 2.

NVIDIA's announcement does not include independent test results or third-party verification of its claims. The company's participation is self-reported and should be viewed in the context of its broader strategic goals and partnerships.
